More commendations came the way of Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole for displaying sportsmanship and maturity in the recently concluded National Assembly election.
The latest commendation came from the Alake of Egbaland Oba Adedotun Gbadebo who described Bankole as a true son and ambassador of Egbaland following his prompt congratulation of all winners in the election and his acceptance of the outcome of the results which did not favour him.
The paramount ruler of Egbaland said that not only did Bankole congratulate winners of the election, he equally made a phone call to the Akinrogun of Egbaland Chief Olusegun Osoba, the leader of the opposition in the state, to congratulate him on his party’s success saying this is a true mark of the enlightened Egba people.
“You have demonstrated that you do not believe in politics of “do or die” but in the politics of service to the people which you have done as a representative and the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Your reaction to the outcome of the National Assembly election is unprecedented for a man in your position in Nigeria and it will remain a reference point in the history of Nigeria” the monarch stated.
Responding,Bankole said he is in town for the presidential election and decided to pay a visit to the Royal father after attending the Jumat service adding that he would continue to proudly fly the flag of Egbaland as well as continue in service of the nation.
