ABEOKUTA –  NO fewer than 12 members of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, were allegedly shot and macheted in Ijebu-Igbo in Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun state on Sunday by some hoodlums suspected to be supporters of a rival Party.

The Senator-elect in Ogun East, Alhaji Sefiu Adegbenga Kaka who spoke to newsmen yesterday accused the police of complicity in the matter.

Kaka whose supporters were the ones affected said “I foresee break down of law and order in today’s election because just yesterday (Sunday) 12 of my people were badly injured by people suspected to be PDP Omo-Ilu members. They macheted and shot them and police stand there akimbo. “The police did not make any arrest rather; they arrested one of my members”.

Confirming the incident, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Olayinka Balogun who spoke on phone exonerated his men from any complicity in the fracas.

He said “it is very funny that the man was saying that and I don’t belief he told you that. His party was not cleared for the rally. Another party was approved to hold a rally there”.
