AKURE-ABOUT 10,000 policemen and other security operatives have been deployed to monitor the elections in Ondo State. Also, political thugs in the State have signed undertaking with the security agencies to be of good behaviour before, during and after the elections.
Briefing newsmen in Akure after a state security council meeting, the Police Commissioner, Mr. Sanni Mogaji said that security personnel would monitor tomorrow’s election.
The security operatives include 8,000 policemen and other men of the National Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, Immigration service, Prison Service, State Security Service, SSS, and men of the armed forces.
This came as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, warned security agencies and youth corps members to be deployed for the election against being compromised during the elections.
Mogaji said the security agencies would begin the show of strength from today to warn any trouble makers against disturbing the peaceful conduct of the election.
