AbdulSalam Muhammad, Kano
KANO – Tragedy struck at General Buhari’s rally in Kano, yesterday, as scores of people sustained injury following the collapse of  an overcrowded corrugated iron tent at the Race Course ground in Kano.

Although no death was reported, those injured were however, seen been ferried away by the Fire Service men for medical attention.

Vanguard reports that the CPC Presidential candidate arrived the venue of the rally some 30 minutes after the  incident but failed to address the crowd as he hurriedly left for the Malam Aminu Kano Airport.

General Buhari’s refusal to address party faithful was occasioned by unruly crowd who surged in excitement and overwhelmed the security forces deployed to the rally ground

General Buhari, had earlier paid a courtesy visit on the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero informing him that he was in Kano for the continuation of his nationwide campaign.

The CPC Presidential flag bearer told the Emir that the party could  not present  governorship candidates in Kano and Katsina because of  unresolved litigations.
