Soldiers to complement Police during elections – Ekiti CP


ADO-EKITI -Soldiers would be drafted to Ekiti State to complement the police and other security agencies in supervising the April  elections, just as the people of the state have been assured of maximum security before during and after the election.

Also top political office holders like governors, deputy governors, ministers and speakers of the State House of Assembly have been advised to stay away from monitoring the election in their official capacities.

The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Olayinka Balogun who announced this yesterday, said the directive was from the Inspector General of Police, Hafiz Ringin, said the order affects the other 35 States of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The police boss further declared that convoy of vehicles, blaring of siren, group movement of persons, as well as attachment of police orderlies to the affected persons on the days of election have also become a crime.
