The Democratic People’s Party, DPP, Delta Central Senatorial candidate in the April 2, 2011, election, Chief Akpor Ewherido, has urged Deltans, especially the Urhobo of Delta Central, to vigorously protect their votes in the forthcoming elections.
He made this call while on a consultative visit to the Delta Elders and Leaders Council at the residence of Senator Fred Brume in Udu, Delta State.
Ewherido said it was not enough for Deltans to vote and go home. He said Deltans should vote and protect their votes until results which reflect the true outcome of the elections are announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Responding, Senator Brume, who is the chairman of the council, said Ewherido was the kind of Senator, the Urhobo needed at this critical time of their existence. Chief Brume expressed confidence in the competence of Chief Ewherido, but advised him to fulfill his electoral promises when he gets to the Senate.
