Day Amaechi took battle for Rivers to Sekibo’s backyard
TUESDAY March 15 was a special day in the ongoing electioneering campaigns in Rivers State. It was a day that Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took the battle to Okrika Local Council- the homestead of his main challenger, Dr. Abiye Sekibo of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN). ABIA State branch of Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, said yesterday that it had not adopted any of the governorship candidates in the state, saying it was treating them on equal basis and praying for them.
State chairman of CAN, Bishop Goddy Okafor, who said this in Aba while briefing journalists, explained that CAN, being an umbrella of all Christians, could not adopt one candidate against the others as they are all Christians.
