ABEOKUTA – FORMER Governor Olusegun Osoba yesterday warned that any attempt to rig the forthcoming elections would lead to a people revolution by the people.
Chief Osoba who spoke at Itoku Market during the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, campaign for its candidates in Abeokuta South Local Government said the people will resist any attempt to rig the elections, noting that few weeks to the elections; the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had not started its campaign.
Addressing the huge crowd that thronged the venue bringing traffic to a stand-still, Chief Osoba said “I want to assure you that our votes will count in the forthcoming polls. Anybody who dares to rig the elections would rig himself non existence.
“That person would invite the revolution of the people. There will be a people’s revolution like the Egyptian Revolution if anybody attempts to rig the election”.
He took time to explain to the people what his administration did in the area including the Itoku Drainage which he said 11 years after, the PDP government had not added anything to adding that the Itori/Igbore road leading to the popular market.
