OSOGBO – President Goodluck Jonathan will tommorrow visit Osun State in continuation of his nationwide presidential campaign tour, just as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state declared that the party would soon bounce back to power .
Addressing newsmen yesterday to herald the visit of the President and his campaign team, the party said the visit would further strenghten the party in the state in its bid to reclaim its mandate from the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria ACN.
Chairman of the party’s publicity committee, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, who spoke on behalf of the party said all arrangements have been concluded towards the campaign which will hold at the Osogbo Township stadium.
According to him, “our plan is to give our president a rousing welcome and perhaps the most tumultous reception he will ever receive anywhere in Nigeria.
We want to say it loud with this mother of all rallies that, despite the temporary setback occassioned by the judicial robbery that sacked Governor Oyinlola’s government late last year, our party is poised to maintain its stronghold on Osun State politically.”
He added that, “our members from across the 30 local governments and across the nooks and crannies of Osun State are being mobilized to come out in their thousands to welcome the new face of modern Nigeria, a breath of fresh air on our nations political landscape.
