The Anambra State Association in the United State of America, ASA-USA, has announced its plans to embark on several mission and projects in Anambra State for 2011 financial year..
The blue print for the mission and project were finalized in Awka during a meeting between the group president, Dr. Allison Anadi and Anambra State Governor, Mr. Peter Obi.
Apart from medical and educational missions which have become a regular signature project of the group, Anadi disclosed that ASA USA would embark on five projects and missions in 2011 including Micro-Financing for Women, Support for Motherless Babies Homes, Research and Development Project, and Youth Empowerment Project.
He further disclosed that last year, more than 12,000 people were treated during ASA USA medical mission to 10 towns in Anambra State .
“This year ASA USA medical missions will surpass the umber as the 2011 medical mission has been expanded to takecare of such ailments as prostrate cancer and diabetes”, he explained.
Dr. Anadi said that Anambra indigenes in the United States were determined to complement the efforts of Anambra State Government to improve the welfare of Ndi Anambra adding that the group would leave no stone unturned to improve the quality of life of the people of Anambra state.
While thanking Anambra people especially those in the diaspora, and the government of the state for their commitment and steadfastness in making the state the best place for humanity, Dr Anadi assured that the group would not relent in its efforts to support any initiative that would bring genuine upliftment to the welfare of Anambra people.
