By Emmanuel Elebeke

LAGOS – The Lagos District Superintendent, Assemblies of God, Nigeria, Rev. Joseph Okafor, has asked Nigerians to see next-month’s general elections as a golden opportunity to vote for credible leaders, who can serve the people with fear of God.

Rev. Okafor made the call at a briefing on the  preparations for church’s  75th anniversary during its national media week, at the church’s headquarters, Maryland, Lagos.

The clergyman who condemned the recent spate of bombings and political killings across the country emphasised the need for all eligible voters to take part in the coming elections.

He said that over 95 per cent of the church members participated in the voter registration, as directed by the leadership of the church.

While calling on Nigerians to come out en masse to vote during the elections, expressed confidence in the leadership of the  Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, saying that only people of impeccable character can bring about the desired change in country when when voted into office.
