CAF moves Libya, Cote’d Ivoire games

African Cup of Nations qualifying matches featuring Libya and Cote’ d Ivoire have been switched to neutral venues because of safety concerns in the host countries.

The Confederation of African Football says Ivory Coast’s Group H match with Benin will take place in Accra, Ghana, on March 27. Libya will play its home match against Comoros in Group C in Bamako, Mali, the following day.

Libya has been torn by fighting between rebels and forces loyal to President Moammar Gadhafi. Ivory Coast has been in political crisis for months due to President Laurent Gbagbo’s refusal to cede power after losing internationally recognized elections.
