Armed political thugs of an opposition party in Benue State yesterday fire on the convoy of Senate President, Chief David Mark while on a campaign tour of Igumale in Benue State.

Mark was proceeding to Igumale from Utonkon village in continuation of his campaigns when the armed thugs emerged from a nearby bush and started shooting sporadically.

However the Senate President was not hurt as the bullets did not hit his Sports Utility Vehicle SUV.
However, that some members of his campaign train sustained minor injuries.

The ugly incident forced the convoy of the Senate President to turn back to Utonkon from where he ordered the diversion of the campaigns to Okpoga in Okpokwu Local Council to avoid a confrontation with the armed political thugs in the area.
