Amaechi cautions against violence during elections


PORT HARCOURT – CANDIDATES for the various elective positions in the country have been urged to eschew violence during the April polls. Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State and governor of the state, Chibuike Amaechi, who made the appeal at his campaign rally in Okrika, the home town of the governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Dr Abiye Sekibo, said the state government will not hesitate to prosecute any  anybody, who threatens the peace in the state.

Flanked by a former governor of old Rivers State, who is also from Okrika, Chief Rufus Ada-George, and other top members of the party in the state, the governor assured that his administration will continue to promote and sustain the atmosphere of peace in the state.
