Akpabio plans one industry per LG in 2nd term

UYO – AKWA Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, weekend, reaffirmed his administration’s desire to establish one industry in each of the 31 local government areas of the state during his second term in office.

Akpabio who stated this at the opening of the fourth meeting of the National Council on Commerce and Industry, NCCI, in Uyo, noted that apart from turning Akwa Ibom into an industrial giant in the country, the policy will provide employment for products of the free education programme introduced in the state by his administration.

The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Engr. Patrick Ekpotu, described Akwa Ibom as a land of limitless opportunities, noting that as a result of political, rather than economic consideration, the state was denied a seaport despite the availability of the deepest natural seaport in Mbo.
