140 golfers vie for Guinness Cup

The 2011 Guinness Cup golf tournament has teed off at the Ikeja Golf Club, with no fewer than 140 amateur golfers battling for various trophies.

Set to run until Saturday where winners would be presented trophies and prizes, this year’s tourney promises to attract the best of golfing action from amateur players from the club.

Speaking on why Guinness decided to identify with the event, Managing Director , Delvin Hainsworth said the firm was committed to its vision of being a leading sponsor of the tourney and promised that their sponsorship would span more years to come.

Benin welcomes a new captain

The home of golf in Nigeria, the Benin Golf Club, is leaping up in one huge celebration. They are enthroning one of their own as new Captain of the Club.  The favoured one is Kingsley Okunbor, an industrialist who sits atop the biggest eatery in Edo, Kaydees.

Drums are beating hard in Benin because of Kaydees Inaugural that is happening this Saturday.

Golfers are just happy that the Benin club will know a new thing after another performing Captain,Charles Ajayi gave them a new Clubhouse.
