…To commission Gbaja shopping mall

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola will on Friday, commission the ultra-modern Gbaja shopping mall located in the Surulere area of Lagos.

The mall is one of the several community projects supported by the Lagos State Government in its public-private initiative that is designed to bring governance close to the people as well as improve their lifestyle.

Disclosing this to newsmen, Chief Executive Officer of DHB Construction Ltd, Chief Hakeem Alobo-Bakare, whose firm promoted the construction of the edifice, explained that the “Lagos State Government wants to build a befitting mega- city having spent so much money on the redevelopment of Funso Williams Avenue (former Western Avenue), Adeniran Ogunsaya, Akerele and other link roads and they want a structure that will match the new look that the government spent so much money on”. Chief Alobo-Bakare said Governor Fashola has agreed to commission the ultra-modern mall as one of the people oriented hallmarks of his administration.

The DHB Construction boss stated that as soon as Gbaja shopping mall goes into operation this month, “it will introduce an exciting twist in shopping and events hosting in Surulere, Lagos”.

The mall, which is the first of its kind in Surulere comes complete with a banking hall, traditional market arrangement of kee klamp shops and a shopping complex. It has an advantage of incorporating an existing market in its immediate neighbourhood that will anchor the kee klamps section.
