THE General Officer Commanding, GOC, 82 Division of Nigerian Army Enugu, Major General Sarkin Yaki Bello, yesterday warned young army officers who will begin their promotion examination today against malpractices, saying the army viewed it with seriousness.

Bello reminded the young officers that their performance in the examination “will determine your future progress in the Nigerian Army.”

He charged them “to face the examination with all the seriousness and determination it deserves.

“Most of you are here for the first time, while a few others are in for second or last attempt. You should have no fears because we are not here to fail any of you deliberately.

“On the contrary, you are the one that has the responsibility to showcase the level of preparations you have made in this examination so as to merit a pass at the end of the day.

“Your success during the outing will in essence be a major milestone in your career progression. However, such success should not be obtained by fraudulent means.

“You must, therefore, avoid acts capable of tarnishing your image or terminating your career abruptly while here for this examination.”
