The former Super Eagles goalkeeper challenged the other goalkeepers to add more bite to their performance in the battle for Eagles number shirt+.

He said, “at the moment our number one goalkeeper is Enyeama based on his outstanding performances, especially at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and that stands him out from the rest”

Shorunmu said the U.S. tournament will be a litmus test for the Coach Samson Siasia led technical crew.

He said the selection of the players for the US trip would be based on the quality and level of commitment of the players, adding that, “we intend to give the invited players a chance to prove themselves before the final selection. The era when players were selected on the strength of their past glories is gone.”

He however reiterated the coaching crews resolve to build a formidable team for the country saying that they had adopted a step by step approach in their programme. “No stone would be left unturned in achieving our objective,” the former Nigeria number one said.
