Ondo State Governor, Dr.Olusegun Mimiko has enjoined men of God not to relent in their prayers for the peace and progress of the country, especially as the nation prepares for general election this year.

Gov. Mimiko stated this during a special service for political office holders and the nation at the headquarters of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, ‘Throne of Grace’ Ebute Metta, Lagos, noting that the nation needs the fervent prayers of men of God for the peaceful conduct of the forthcoming general elections in the country.

He commended the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye for his stedfast love for the nation, saying that children of God in the country and in diaspora would continue to appreciate his noble role for the peace and progress of the country.

His words: “We want to assure him that we appreciate his labour of love for this nation, we don’t have any doubt in our mind that his prayers had gone a long way in sustaining the peace we are enjoying in this country. We know that with the prayers of men of God like him, the election will be peaceful and it will be free and fair by the grace of God. I’m sure with their prayers, the spirit of do-or-die politics in Nigeria will be a thing of the past; we shall have a truly, truly credible election to the glory of Almighty God.”

Mimiko therefore charged all Nigerians to be alert to their responsibility and ensure that credible leaders that will prioritize their needs emerge at all levels.

Says he: “If we must get it right in this nation, all hands must be on deck, and if you see the turnout of our people for the just concluded voter’ registration exercise, you will observe the spirit in our people to choose credible leaders this time around. This also signifies that the prayers of the Church are being fulfilled in our lives and for us we are very excited and we pray and thank Daddy G.O for conceiving this programme.”

In his message, Pastor Adeboye charged the people to have absolute faith in God as the only solution to their problem, praying against the emergence of selfish politicians that will not protect the interest of the masses in this year’s election.

He, however, prayed for all political office holders and the nation as it prepares for general election this year.
