Kaduna – The police in Kaduna have arraigned four normads for allegedly wandering in the Pambegua area of the state.
The accused, Ahmed Yau, 28; Bello Daje, 22; Mohammad Isa 50; and Isa Jubril, 30 were arrested on Oct. 8 by the police anti-robbery squad.
The Head of the anti-robbery squad, Sgt. Ephrahim Macygini, told the Chief Magistrate’s Court that the suspects were arrested following reports made to the police that some suspected armed robbers were sighted at the Pambegua area.
The Police Prosecutor, Mr Simon Usman, told the court that the case was still being investigated to enable the police to get to the root of the matter.
All the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges, saying they were in Pambegua with their animals when they were arrested.
They said it was when they were arrested that the police accused them of being members of a robbery syndicate.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Nasiru Idris, granted the accused bail in the sum of N30,000 each with one surety in like sum, and adjourned the case till March 17.
