Gombe State House of Assembly, yesterday received a N58.483 billion budget projected for 2011 fiscal year. The budget is made up of recurrent expenditure of N27.458 billion and capital expenditure of N31. 024 billion.
Titled Budget of Achievements and Gratitude, Governor Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma Goje, who made the presentation on the floor of the state House of Assembly, said that the budget would enable his administration complete all ongoing projects and programmes initiated before its expiration in May.
He said: “The 2011 budget will be geared towards ensuring the completion and consolidation of the projects/programmes started by this administration. We have no plans to leave any uncompleted project unless where it becomes very absolute necessary.”
The governor stated that the “2011 budget covers such vital sectors as education, health, roads, agriculture, rural development, urban development, tourism development, women affairs and general administration, amongst other areas.”
Governor Goje, who would not have the privilege of addressing the Assembly in that capacity as his tenure expires in May, used the occasion to express his gratitude to the Speaker of the House, Mr. Manga Musa Bojude, the members and entire people of the state for their assistance through out the life of his administration.
“I want to thank the entire people of Gombe state for standing by us during our forest and second terms in office”, he said.
