Watch your conscience, Akpabio tells Nigeria Police

The Nigeria Police have been charged to watch their conscience and discharge their duties without fear or favour.

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswiil Akpabio, gave the charge, Monday, in Uyo, during an interaction session with senior officers of the Nigeria Police Force.

The Governor, who acknowledged that security business was a collective responsibility, enjoined men of the Police Force not to mind whatever negative perception the public may hold of them, but rather focused on doing the right thing always to all manner of people.

Chief Akpabio, who stressed the need for regular interaction between the police and government in order to fashion out ways of effectively police the state, acknowledged the roles played by the police during the yuletide, which made the people to peacefully celebrate Christmas.

The Governor assured the police in the state of government’s continuous support, especially in the provision of logistics to enable them discharge their duties optimally.

Earlier, the Commissioner of police Akwa Ibom State Command, Mr. Sani Magaji lauded Governor Akpabio for approving the redesign and renovation of the police officers mess at Metro Road, Uyo.
