Primaries: PDP panel insists no election in 2 Kogi constituencies

By Luka Binniyat
The National Electoral Panel constituted by the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to oversee the election of candidates for the National Assembly for Kogi State, Sunday, in Abuja, insisted that elections did not hold in Kogi West Senatorial district, and Ankpa/Olamabora/Omala Federal Constituency.

The Chairman of the panel, Hon. Peter Yohana, and the Secretary of the Panel, Hajia Rabi Usman, who made  this known  at a press conference in Abuja, also said that the election result for Anpka/Olamabor/Omala Federal Constituency in which  Mohammed Ibrahim Idris, son of Governor Ibrahim Idris was declared winner, was null and void, since it was conducted outside the official venue, without the knowledge of the panel, and officially appointed officials of the National Independent Electoral Commission INEC.

“We were inundated with thugs and gangsters at Ankpa.

“The place was not just conducive for any election. So we could not conduct the elections.

“Any result declared there should be disregarded, as the National Secretariat would soon announce a new election date for that place”, he said.
