DELTA State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has appealed to Deltans to join hands with him in moving the state forward, saying that his desire to serve was not to accumulate wealth because he was already wealthy before coming into politics.
The Governor who stated this while being sworn-in, Monday, exactly two months and a day he was sacked by the Court of Appeal judgment last year, November 9, also said he was opening a channel of communication to enable Deltans interact with him directly.
Said he,“fellow Deltans, let me share with you something about myself. My needs are very simple. I have a wife and two children and was happily practicing medicine when I was called to service. I have no ambition for wealth or material trappings, so I have no need to be corrupt and I assure you that my administration will be systems driven, transparent, accountable and corruption free.
“It is also important for me to say a few things regarding the resources of the state and its management. I have a burning desire to provide rapid development, economic growth and reduce poverty among our people.
“These challenges,” he went on, “require significant investment of money, time and sacrifices from all of us and therefore, do not allow room for frivolous spending or waste.”
