Monarch urges mass registration

By Akpokona Omafuaire
The Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, Ovie R. Ogbon, Ogoni-Oghoro I in Delta State, has called on Olomu sons and daughters of voting age to register enmass in the ongoing voters registration, so that the numerical strength of the Olomu people can be reflected. He tasked religious leaders in the area to properly educate their congregation.

The Monarch made the call, Thursday, while registering at Ogoni-Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

He said, “the voter registration is very important to every Nigerian. I call on all my subjects of voting age to come out and register.”

He urged all clergymen to educate their congregation on the importance of this exercise. “They don’t have to be told again. It has started, so they should all come out. We don’t want to be disenfranchised. Our true voting strength has not been reflected in the past, now it is the time to do it.”

He warned that “anybody who failed to register is dragging the kingdom backwards.”
