Fidelity Bank concludes Seamless Unified Account Numbering

In compliance to the recent Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) directive, Fidelity Bank Plc has swiftly concluded the migration of the account numbers of her teeming customers to meet the requirements of the Nigerian Unified Account Numbering Scheme (NUBAN).

Aided by its cutting edge technology, the bank was able to achieve a near instant hundred percent seamless migration of the account numbers of her customers from the 15 digits to the new statutory 10 digits as directed by the apex bank.

Allaying the fears of customers on the possibilities of complexities arising from this development, the bank has assured its customers that their old 15 digit numbers are still valid and would present no difficulties with the introduction of the new ones.

The bank’s information technology support system has been programmed in such a way that once a customer’s old 15 digit account number is keyed into a computer, the new 10 digit account number would pop up.

Emma Esinnah, Head, Marketing Communications Group attributes the swift achievement of this data migration to the bank’s superior technology. “Fidelity Bank runs on one of the best information technology backbones that the market has to offer today,” he explained.

According to him, modern banking runs on two major components – competent staff and superior technology. “If you are playing to win in this market, you must come prepared with these two components,” Mr. Esinnah further observed.

He also explained that all customers of the bank could continue to use their cheque leaves with the 15 digit account numbers with April this year when they are expected to return any unused stock in exchange for the new 10 digit cheque books at no cost to them.
