DPP chieftain faults INEC’s use of NYSC members

A Democratic Peoples Party, DPP, chieftain in Delta State, Major  Okobia, has faulted the use of National Youth Service Corp, NYSC, members as adhoc staff by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, saying that they were not exposed enough to have been recruited and could be easily induced financially.

He also faulted the result declared by INEC for the Delta governorship re-run, accusing the commission of compromising  standards.

He said INEC did not deliver the true position, facts and figures that emerged from the conduct of the re-run election as published, urging the commission to cancel results from  polling units that were marred with fraud and violence.

He also called for a probe into the January 6, re-run election, urging the Federal Government to call the INEC boss, Prof. Attahiru Jega  to order,  stressing that local government areas with known and reported cases of electoral malpractices should not have been added to the entire result.
