WARRI-PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, Chairman in Warri South-WestCouncil area of Delta State , Mr. Ayiri Emami  declared that the result of the re-run gubernatorial election is an open display of primordial sentiment that is not good for our democracy.

Mr. Ayiri also said that it was wrong for anybody to say there are no people in the coastal communities of the state, saying that perhaps account for why he did not carry his campaign to the vast area to secure their mandate.

According to him, the Democratic Peoples Party , DPP, candidate, Chief Great Ogboru forgot that there are perhaps more youths and workers at Escravos than most urban areas of the state, adding that though the homes and villages of the Itsekiri people were destroyed during the Itsekir/Ijaw war, the people still go back there to continue their living with a lot of hardship.

While stating that Chief Ogboru campaign basically appealed to tribal emotions of his Urhobo people of the Delta Central Senatorial district, he was un-diplomatic in remarking that there are no human beings in the coastal riverine areas and asked where did Ogboru got his vote from in Oporoza in Gbaramatu kingdom?.

He however applauded the sagacity of Ogboru in the election but admonished him to try and remain on ground to master the Delta terrain properly and not depend on the phantom godfather influence of some assumed leaders and elders bent on holding the state to ransom for selfish tribal and political reasons.

Mr. Ayiri disclosed that when it became obvious that Ogboru is playing the ethnic game, they had to follow suit and appealed to the leaders and friends of Dr. Uduaghan in both the North and South senatorial districts for a resounding victory based on democratic principle and the power rotation agreement principle of the PDP to defeat their opponents.

He dismissed as baseless allegation that Naval Personnel prevented agents of opposition parties from going into the creeks, saying that what happened was that Naval personnel on regular patrol held every person without regard to who you are on the waterways for security reasons including women with their basket of crayfish meant for the market untill every party leader came to identify and clear their people before everyone was left to go about their business at the same time.
