AMID tight security, Executive Director, Finance and Administration, Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Pastor Power Aginighan, gave out his daughter Ebiarelayefa in marriage to Mr. Timipere Jenakumo, weekend, in Port Harcourt.

The heavy security arrangement was apparently, put in place at venues of the traditional and white wedding ceremonies because of the spate of bomb blasts in the country.  And since the event attracted important personalities, there was need to guard against any ugly development.

Wife of President Good- luck Jonathan at the reception for the white wedding, charged the couple to take steps to consolidate their marriage. The President’s wife who was represented by wife of the Governor of Rivers State, Mrs. Judith Amaechi, further tasked them to continue to promote marriage values with their actions.

On his part, Executive Director, Project of NDDC, Arch Esoetok Ikpong Eteh, who spoke at the reception for the traditional wedding appealed to the couple to resist external influence in their matrimonial home.

He congratulated the father of the bride who is his colleague on the board of the NDCC, Power Aginighan for being lucky to give out his children in marriages. He recalled that he was at a similar ceremony two years ago.

Others who gave good will comments at the event charged the couple to demonstrate maturity at all times.

In a chat later with the Vanguard, father of the bride, Executive Director Finance and Administration, NDDC, Mr Aginighan said he was grateful to God for being able to give out his children in marriage. He prayed for the couple.

Some dignitaries at the event included, wife of the governor of Rivers state , Mrs Judith Amaechi,  Rear Admiral Festus Porbeni, rtd,  second civilian governor of  Borno state, Alhaji Asheikh Jarma ,  celebrated African writer Gabriel Okara and so on.
