AKURE—A 13 year old boy, Temidayo Akinbolusere has reportedly committed suicide by hanging in Oba-Ile area of Akure North Local Government council of Ondo State. But suspecting a foul play, police in the state has arrested four persons in connection with the death of the teenager.
The mystery surrounding the suicide is still a source of concern in the area but the police in the state Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, vowed to unravel it soonest.
Vanguard gathered that Temidayo until his death a student of Eji-Oba Secondary School, Oba-Ile was said to have hanged himself on a tree beside his parent’s residence last weekend.
It was gathered that he committed suicide hours after members of his household left to register in the on-going voters registration.
The Police in the state confirmed the unfortunate incident which is the second within few months.
Ondo State Police PRO, Adeniran Aremu told Vanguard that parents of the deceased were not around when he reportedly committed suicide.
Aremu said the four suspects apprehended over the incident were currently being interrogated.
He pointed out that men of the SCID were investigating the death of the boy while the corpse had been deposited at the State Specialist Hospital for autopsy.
While expressing disgust over the incident, Aremu appealed to parents of wards to be vigilant and take good care of their children.
According to him “The police is appealing to parents and guardians to watch over their children to prevent further occurrence of suicide missions”.
Aremu vowed that the police would get to the root of the death of the teenager and that those in police custody are helping the police in its investigation.
Vanguard gathered that the four persons arrested were the neighbours of the deceased parents who were said to be around when the incident happened.
