UK don gives Nigerian students kudos

A lecturer at the University of Leicester School of Management(ULSM), Leicester, United Kingdom, Dr. William Green, has given a thumb-up to Nigerian students.

Speaking during a visit to LeadMode International Distance Learning Centre, a centre that represents some leading universities in Europe, the don stressed the need for distance learning.

According to him, “Distance Learning gives students a great opportunity to continue in their full time profession whilst gaining additional qualifications from respected, world leading institutions. In this respect, students are given the opportunity to study over a number of years to account for their busy careers and often family lives.”

Green who visited both Lagos and Abuja centres of LeadMode was impressed with the Nigerian students. “I met many students in Lagos and Abuja and have been impressed with their ability to ask poignant questions, which illustrates their confidence and insight into specific subjects.”

The don said the staff from the University of Leicester, School of Management (ULSM) conduct a faculty visit to Leadmode, twice a year on to assess  the centre. According to him, “the purpose of the visit is to give students the opportunity to gain an understanding of our expectations in regard to assignments, examinations and dissertation writing.

The visits also give students the opportunity for one-one interaction with ULSM academic staff, to receive direct and personal advice regarding their experience and especially support for dissertation planning and writing, “he told The Nation.
