The Youth Sport Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has a new date for the postponed President Unity Cup Under-17 boys soccer competition which was earlier fixed for November 24th-27th, 2010 in Yenagoa, capital of Bayelsa State.
National PRO of YSFON, Ben Ekpo who disclosed to Sunday Vanguard sports from his Uyo base said the competition aimed at discovering young talents for the junior national teams said the competition will now hold December 12-18 at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa.
He reiterated that the competition which is being bankrolled by the Bayelsa state government was postponed because for logistic reasons.
The Cup which was donated by former president, Alhaji Shehu Shagari in 1981 will be competed for by 24 states in Nigeria including defending champions Katsina and host Bayelsa, Ekpo said, adding that the winner will represent Nigeria in the 2011 Norway Cup.
