Igbo political summit holds in Jos

The Northern Igbo Political Summit organised by the Igbo Democratic Forum, which was earlier postponed, will now hold on Thursday, December 16, in Jos, Plateau State capital.

A statement signed by the forum’s President, Chief Chidi Ndu, said the summit would provide an opportunity for Ndigbo in Northern Nigeria to assert their relevance in the political sphere as well as “provide the needed platform for the sensitisation of the undeniable large assemblage of Igbo race in Northern Nigeria on the forthcoming polls in 2011.”

It added that the summit, which would draw eminent personalities from across the country, would be chaired by former Information Minister, Professor Jerry Gana, while the keynote address would be presented by Owelle Anayo Rochas Okorocha.
