Guber aspirant condemns election materials theft

By Ola Ajayi
IBADAN—DR. Adebayo Adewusi, a governorship aspirant of the Action Congress of Nigeria has condemned and asked the security agencies to fish out those behind the stealing of election materials recently imported into the country.

Describing it as shameful and embarrassing, he called on the Federal Government to ensure that those who perpetrated the sabotage should be made to face the full wrath of the law.

While speaking with newsmen in Ibadan yesterday, Dr. Adewusi said the internal crises in the party would be amicably resolved and added that the progressives like him don’t like being rude to their leaders.

He affirmed the leadership qualities of the State leader of the party, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina saying he is putting all machinery in motion to ensure that all aspirants are given level playing ground.

Contrary to report on the State Broadcasting Corporation that he and his members were planning to join the Accord Party, he explained that it was never in his thought to leave the ACN.

He assured his teeming followers in the state not to be distracted as the party would settle whatever crisis it has adding that in a competition, some pockets of skirmishes witnessed during the registration of members of the party did not overshadow the success the party recorded in the exercise.

To him, the recent victory of the party in the neighbouring Osun State would certainly influence the Oyo State people and vote for the party in the state.

He called on the eligible voters in the state to make sure that they register for the election as he maintained this is the only way they can vote out the PDP from power and give room for progress and developmental programmes which had eluded the state since the PDP assumed power.

Otunba Lawal Tunji Solarin, the Executive director, of the Ogun Shandong Business Council said the visit was a milestone as the mutually beneficial economic relationship between both states has now been firmly established.

He said business men from Ogun State could take advantage of this when they are in China as the office of the council in Jinan, Shandong was already operational while the counterpart office at OPIC building, Abeokuta has also been opened.
