Former Super Eagles assistant coach Joe Erico has said that the 2011 Women’s World Cup draws which pitched the Super Falcons with Germany, Canada and France will not be an easy ride for them.
The former Green Egles goalkeeper was however, quick to add that only hard work could help them survive from the Group.
Erico, who expressed shock on learning about the draw said it is the toughest amongst all the groups, adding that only hard work will see the Uche Eucharia-tutored through the group stage.
“It is a terrible setting and indeed a strong group. My belief in a tournament is that anybody that qualified in the group is strong. And we have to do a lot of work in that area to really come out.
“To be honest, it is not going to be an easy ride for Nigeria, they need extra work because Germany, Canada and France are strong sides. I know their capability especially when it comes to the World Cup
It is a very tough group, I do not know how we will make it. But with luck, we could make it. How I wish it was another group. If you asked me, I think it is the toughest.
“Using the African Women’s Championship, AWC to rate our capability is not enough, the World Cup is different from AWC, it is an Africa setting. The World cup is a big competition with experience players. We just need to work and see how luck will prevail,” he said
