Council boss fingered in PDP chieftain’s murder

YOLA—Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of the chairman of one of the local councils (names withheld) and three others in connection with the killing of the PDP chairman in the local government.

Confirming the arrest in Yola, Tueday, the State  Command’s  Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Altine Daniel (ASP) stated that the council boss and three others are with the CID department to answer questions related to the death of the PDP chieftain last  week.

However, Altine declined further comments saying that police has just commenced preliminary investigations into the killing.

The PPRO added that at the appropriate time, full details of the case and the involvement of the suspects individually or collectively will be made public.

Meanwhile, Adamawa State House of Assembly has suspended the embattled chairman for his alleged role in the killing of the PDP chairman in the local government and his subsequent arrest.

A motion to that effect was sponsored by the Member representing Mubi South Constituency, Mr. Sajo Gella.
Moving the motion, Gella argued that in view of the grievous nature of the allegation against the council chairman, he should be suspended pending investigation ands final conclusion of police findings.

The House in a unanimous voice voted to suspend the accused as the Chairman of the Local Government Council.

It will be recalled that the PDP chairman in one oof the local government of Adamawa State was killed by gunmen in his house penultimate Thursday.
