Former Enyimba of Aba winger, Philip Auta has been groaning about his prevention from starring for Kwara United in the Nigeria Premier League following a transfer dispute with his former employers.
Auta made only one start for Kwara United, but his wish of achieving greatness with the Ilorin side was put on hold, when Enyimba demanded that all outstanding issues surrounding his transfer has been settled.
“I was informed by the secretary of Kwara United that I cannot play again until the case has been settled.
“It is very sad that I have to be stopped from playing football. I can only wish that this whole thing is resolved so that I can continue with my career,” said the Kaduna-born player
The player signed a contract with Enyimba, but the was not paid all of his sign of fee. According to him that was the reason he had to join Kwara United.
Acting executive secretary of the NPL, Tunji Babalola, disclosed that they are aware that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have asked Auta to hold on till all the necessary paper work has been done before he could resume playing again.
“We are very much in the picture of this matter. Even though he has got a provisional clearance, there are still some registration formalities that he has not concluded,” Babalola said.
Auta has maintained that he would rather feature for Kwara United this season after his contract with Enyimba expired in the close season and they are still to pay him his signing-on fee of over four million naira for last season.
