UYO—Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, has inaugurated his campaign organisation in all the 31local government areas of the state, with a commitment to sustain infrastructural development in the state.
Akpabio who said that his administration in its quest to revolutionize the state, had recorded tremendous achievement in education, road, health, electrification, power and transportation, said he has approved the extension of road construction to cover major axis of all the local government areas and that he would now focus on industry and job creation as his second term project.
The Governor, who noted that aviation, erosion control, energy and the expansion of the Independent Power Plant at Ikot Abasi were part of the revolution, said that his administration will also pay more attention to youth empowerment.
It was a roll call of who is who in the state politics, when the Local Government and Ward Co_ordinating Committees of the Godswill Akpabio 2011 Campaign Organization was inaugurated in 10 Local Government Areas of Ika , Ukanafun, Oruk Anam, Nsit Atai, Ibesikpo, Uruan, Urue Offong, Mkpat Enin, Eastern Obolo and Ikot Abasi.
In Nsit Atai, the crowd converged at the Campaign Office, former Local Government Education Office, Odot, to receive the State team led by the Deputy Director General of the Campaign Organization and former State Chairman of the party, Architect Ita Toyo who charged politicians in the area to support the governor based on his score card.
Co-ordinator for the Local Government and Commissioner for Environment, Mr. John Harry in his remarks welcomed the high powered delegation to the area and assured them that not much work was needed in the area since the indigenes have been adequately sensitized and mobilized to give the governor 100% support in both the primaries and the real elections and at the same time surmount all challenges from opposition.
