This week’s meeting of FIFA Ethics Committee which commenced Monday will be concluded today. FIFA has been investigating into corruption allegations which have cast a shadow over the contest for the right to stage the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.
Two members of FIFA’s executive committee, Amos Adamu of Nigeria and Reynald Temarii of Tahiti, who have since been provisionally suspended pending the outcome of the hearing into newspaper allegations that they offered to sell their votes will know their fates tomorrow..
FIFA’s ethics committee, which is conducting the investigation and hearing, is also probing into allegations of collusion between bidding nations.
The committee, headed by former Swiss footballer Claudio Sulser is expected to reach its decision on today, although FIFA said in a statement that the verdict would be publicly announced in a news conference tomorrow.
