Orji flays attack on Alaibe’s house

By Anayo Okoli

Umuahia— GOVERNOR Theodore Orji of Abia State has condemned last weekend’s bombing of the Bayelsa home of Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta, Mr. Timi Alaibe.

Governor Orji, in a statement issued by his adviser on Electronic Media, Mr. Ugochukwu Emezue, decried the action which, he said, did not portray the country in good light, more so when the October 1st bombing in Abuja was still fresh in the minds of Nigerians.

Orji challenged the nation’s security agencies not to rest until those responsible for the act were brought to book.

“Every effort must be made to track down the perpetrators of this ugly act. They must not be allowed to go scot free. I’m convinced that our security operatives are equal to the challenge,’’ Governor Orji said.

Sympathizing with Alaibe over the incident, the governor  urged him not to be discouraged in his assignment of ensuring that ex-militants were given a new lease of life.

According to him, the amnesty programme in the Niger Delta must be pursued with vigour, since President Goodluck is committed to peace and security in that region.
