On May 27, 2005, Francis Ememifeozor of Ogbe Ishago Village, Ogwashi Uku, Delta State was involved in a major accident as he was walking along Costain Bus Stop at Ebutta Metta in Lagos. He was hit by a 911 truck which ran away.
He sustained substantial injuries on his waist, with fractures which affected his urinary organ so much that he cannot urinate again. To do that, he uses catheter, a urinary bag.
After the accident, he was taken to the Lagos Island Hospital, then Ikeja General Hospital where an operation was done. At Ikeja, however, he was told that his urinary organ fractured at the pubic bone, and that his left leg was affected making shorter than the other.
To correct these, Ememifeozor was told that two operations are to be done by the Ikeja hospital and the orthopaedic Hospital, Igbobi, Lagos.
Handsome looking Ememifeozor, an orphan who said he was from a poor family, explained that he had been going to the hospital every three weeks since 2005 and spends over N5000 for a drug.
After the examinations and tests, Ememifeozor needs N2m to undergo these operations. He is now jobless. Ememifeozor told Saturday Vanguard of his dire need for help. “ I am an orphan. My extended family does not help me. I have an only sister and she is poor. I beg to raise the N5000 for the drugs every three months. Friends feed and accommodate me. Nobody from my village is helping me,” he continued.
He also thanked those helping him so far, he asked Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to come to his help. “I need his help. I also plead with President Jonathan to help me. All kind hearted Nigerians, please help me,” he pleaded.
He gave a Diamond account number, 0511060007009, UBA 00800520163650 for anyone that wants to help him. His telephone number is 07033703136.
“I have been suffering for six years because of this. If only I have the money, I will get well.
Ememifeozor, who had barely a primary school education, was a mechanic and driver but cannt not do all these anymore.
The documents from the radiological department of the Lagos State University Hospital, Ikeja dated 17 Oct 2007 and Sept 24 2007 hospital gave details of went wrong with his body, all pointing to the need for the two operations.
