OWERRI—The re-branded annual Ahiajoku lecture, the Igbo forum for intellectual harvest and cultural renaissance, is set to hold in Owerri, Imo State capital, this month.
Disclosing this development in a press statement, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Amanze Obi, said the festival would hold November 25-26, 2010.
He further disclosed that the theme of this year’s lecture is “Nigeria’s leadership challenges in the 21st Century: the Igbo perspective”.
Obi announced that the lecture would be delivered by the immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, Professor Chinedu Nebo.
The major highlight of this year’s festival, according to Dr. Obi, is that it would be spiced with a lot of intellectual and cultural activities.
“The festival would begin with a colloquuim, which parades a number of egg heads from the academic community, within and outside the country. It will hold along side an art exhibition and cultural night,” Obi said.
