I left millions in NFF coffers, Lulu

Former NFF President Sani Lulu Abdullahi has for the first time since he was eased out of office in July this year, put certain record s straight as relates to the amount of money that was left in the accounts that were frozen by the EFCC in July this year.

Speaking in Abuja, Lulu said this clarification become necessary because of the various versions of the facts that are been released to the public. In his words, the former FCT Director of Sports said “my attention has been drawn to newspaper publications credited to the NFF on the state of the account as at the time of my unlawful impeachment.

I wish to state categorically that the sum of N900million that was credited to NFF on 2nd June, 2010 for the World cup preparation and was kept in the UBA Account of the Federation with no 02680310002383. As at 1st July, 2010, a balance of N326,639,514.78 was left in that account.

A sum of $5.5million was left untouched at the First Bank Account of the Federation. This is the FIFA/LOC sponsorship fund that was remitted through NFF and lodged in the Bank”.

Lulu said that the AFRIBANK Account which is the Federation’s main foreign account has a total of $543,940.00 as at 1st July, 2010 “the above presentations becomes necessary to ensure that Nigerians have a true presentations of what is left in the NFF account before I left office” he concluded.
