It was shock and later disbelief last Sunday as two of the finest stars in the Glo Naija Sings had to leave.
The manner of their exit was as dramatic as it could be.
Anchor of the event, Olisa Adibua, having identified Boma, Ekeng and Najite as in the bottom three among the seven contestants, and then proceeded by asking Boma to read what was in the result envelope.
Many had thought that Boma was on her way out and was just going to read that out to the audience. Alas! She was saved! And the shocker? Both Ekeng and Najite were sent home by their supporters who failed to back them with enough votes to keep them in the show.
In a matter of minutes, the duo changed status from being contestants to being part of the audience. But before then, Ekeng had told the world to wait for him to explode soon as he would be releasing a single next year. Najite gave a similar promise as she said her story would not end just like that.
With the exit of these two, only Peace, Boma, Rasine, Da Brodas and Casey remained to fight for the viewers’ votes for the $100,000 and the brand new RAV 4 added by Globacom as icing on the cake for the winner.
This weekend, the excitement is getting hotter with the remaining five contestants doing songs from Fela’s collections.
