A 40 million member Christian Council of Nigeria has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to publish the names of the people found to be connected to importation of arms into the country.

The council, while addressing newsmen as part of activities marking the commencement of the 2010 CCN week expressed concern over the importation and pleaded with the FG to expose all those behind the illegal and unpatriotic act.

The council which was founded in 1929 warned the politicians through its Oyo State Chairman, Archbishop M.K.Stephen that politicians must be very careful.

He said it was unfortunate that the country was witnessing incessant importation of arm asking the politicians to hold tenaciously to the tenets of good democratic principles.

According to him, it would be wrong for any politicians who believe that they can foist their will on other Nigerians with the use of arms during election.

The council commended the steps taken by the FG by taking the matter to the United Nations saying the matter must not end there.

While commending the security agents for their vigilance, he said other Christians should not fold their arms but should participate actively by contesting elections so that credible people would be elected at the end of the day.

The cleric noted that it would be wrong for any Christian to fold his arms and be complaining things are not being done the way they should be done.
