GOVERNOR Adebayo Alao-Akala of Oyo State has described Senator Lekan Balogun’s call for  protest against alleged partisanship of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adisa Baba Bolanta, as sheer mischief and parochialism.

This came as the CP denied ever inviting the former Governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, and other chieftains of the ruling party.

He dismissed the alarm raised by Senator Balogun as outright lie and that the politician was in the habit of heating up the polity for no just cause and that he took delight in making unnecessary noise.

The Peoples Democratic Party chieftain and an anti-Akala second term bid,  had claimed on Tuesday  that he and others were invited by the CP in connection with the Ogbomoso mayhem.

He alleged that the CP had outlived “his usefulness in the state as he now panders to the whims and caprices of the governor.”

As a result of this, he called for the outright removal of the CP or his re-deployment to another state.

Akala, through his Special Adviser on Public Communication, Prince Dotun Oyelade,  said the decision of his perceived opponent to organise a protest against the Nigerian Police at Iyaganku Police Station bordered on juvenile delinquency.

The governor said, his wild allegations notwithstanding,  he should learn how to conduct himself with decorum, especially when his perennial grandstanding was based on mischief and parochialism.

Akala said, “For a man whose group has literally decamped to the opposition to now threaten to leave is an abject trite.

Governor Akala said Balogun and his group must be stopped from taking laws into their  hands by hiding under the guise of democratic freedom to cause disorder.

”They must submit themselves to the laws of the land and stop using blackmail to circumvent it”, the governor stated.
