2011: Saraki promises to diversify economy

ABUJA—Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential aspirant, Dr. Bukola Saraki,has pledged to focus on the diversification of the economy from the current monolithic oil dependency status, with a view to opening up other areas for greater economic activities that would engage the teaming youths population in the country if elected president next year.

Dr. Saraki, who is also the governor of Kwara State, noted that his administration would focus on the real sector of the economy, such as agriculture, manufacturing, small and medium enterprising, amongst others, to breath new life into the various sectors of the economy.

Speaking through the Director General of his campaign organisation, Dr. Udenta O. Udenta, the incumbent governor of Kwara State said he would expand on the agricultural revolution being experienced in Kwara State today to cover all the states of the federation.

According to him, “the focus of our campaign, the Saraki Campaign Organization is very clear to any Nigerian who is conversant with the discourse going on in both the electronic and print media.

“It is a campaign that is focused on ideas, focused on the best strategies and best practice in terms of resuscitating the nation, resuscitating the economy,empowering human beings collectively and individually, and creating a nation where promises, opportunities and possibilities are realised.
