Sokoto — Governor Aliyu Wamakko has approved N153.8 million for the payment of 2010 WAEC and NECO fees for all candidates, including non-indigenes.

According to a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Education Ministry, Alhaji Bello Sifawa, the WAEC fees would gulp the sum of N66.992m and the sum of N86.72m would go for NECO.

Sifawa stated that the gesture was aimed at ensuring that all indigent students are accorded the opportunity to pursue their academic zeal with ease.

While commending Sokoto State government for the gesture, he urged parents to reciprocate by supporting the educational programmes and policies of the state government and the students to use the opportunity to explore the available gesture.
