Port Harcourt—Rivers State Government has criticised Abia State government over a comment on Governor Chibuike Amaechi, for saying that Rivers tax payers’ money was used to aid the restoration of peace in Abia State.
Rivers government said Abia State’s Commissioner for Information, Mr. Anthony Agbazuare was ignorant of “issues concerning security, an exclusive area for Governors” and that when Abia was ravaged by the menace of kidnappings, Rivers offered succour.
Rivers’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari, who was reacting to the castigation of Amaechi by Agbazuare, told newsmen in Port Harcourt, yesterday, that it was inconceivable for Agbazuare to be so unruly with his comments.
“Rivers State government collaborated with the Federal Government in the rescue operation of the kidnapped children by providing the intelligence and security support that was used to rescue the victims in Abia State,” she said.
